The « Jacomet method » combines a traditional printing technique (lithography, phototype, engraving, screen printing and for one of the eldest, typography) and stencil printing (which is the most ancient, see Lascaux/Chauvet, and the handprints).

It uses master plates made with original drawings of the artists and then coloring is added using a stencil.

The stencil, an aluminium metal sheet, is onto the colour shape is drawn and then put on the print run.

Whether the colours, as the stencils, afterwards they are manually cut.

For this Caroline Karénine’s print, 5 different stencils were used.

Colours are then added one by one onto each paper and they can sometimes be applied by hand, using a brush.

Handmade paper, done at the Fontaine de Vaucluse mill (84) by Bruno Jacomet.
Print made into the studio in Sète (34) by Bruno Jacomet.
