Caroline Karenine is a French tattoo artist and visual artist, self-taught for over 18 years. Internationally recognized for her portraits of women from around the world and her ethnic ornamental style, she draws inspiration from architecture, travel and ancestral rituals — from Japan to Colombia, from Barcelona to the Philippines.
Her work celebrates tattooed women across civilizations, from Indian mehndi to Berber patterns, as a thread woven between all cultures. Beyond skin, she explores fragmentation and unity through textile, thread and sculpture.
