A young woman of the 17th century, Oshichi embodies both passionate love and the irreversible consequences of impulsive choices. Her story, immortalized through literature, kabuki theater, and ukiyo-e prints, continues to captivate with its dramatic depth.

Drawing on the work “Cherry Blossoms of Love” by Torii Kiyomasu I (1718), Caroline Karénine intertwines past and present in a vibrant piece that celebrates the power and universality of legendary tales.
